The scope of work at the Thompson residence includes a framing revision and some interior
alterations.
I have addressed your review comments below. Please feel free to call me directly at 206-779-
6856 to avoid further corrections that can be addressed in that manner.
Responses are italicized:
1. It appears that there are drawings, details, bracing, connection details and information
that can be found in the Engineer's calculation packet, that have not been depicted on the
submitted plan sheet(s) for the project. Please demonstrate this information on the plans.
We have submitted sheets Al-A5 addressing the plan information that was provided in
my calculations onto sheets. We have also added sheet SO for general notes.
2. Please provide a foundation plan for the project. It appears that this is missing but can be
found in calculation packet.. The representative foundation plan is included in the
drawing set. Refer to sheet A3
3. Please provide a roof framing plan for the project. It appears that this is missing but can
be found in calculation packet.. The representative roof framing plan is included in the
drawing set. Refer to sheet A5.
4. Please demonstrate on the plans the structural members and their locations for the
calculations you have done for this project. Refer to plan sheets AI-A5.
5. Please demonstrate on the plans the header sizes for the two newly enlarged windows and
the newly enlarged door. Both of the headers are indicated on the roof framing plan on
sheet A5. (2)-2x8.

6. Please demonstrate on the plans the Mechanical ventilation and its minimum
requirements for the bathroom and kitchen. Response by architect.
7. Please provide the code cycle and any other additional ICC code references used for this
project on page P1. Please keep in mind that as of February 1, 2021 Washington state has
adopted the 2018 code cycle for ICC along with amendments. Response by architect, but
note that our design is 2018 IBC compliant.
8. Please demonstrate on the plans, how the smoke/carbon monoxide detector(s) will be
connected to the existing smoke/ carbon monoxide detector(s). Response by architect.
9. It appears that there is an existing and proposed floor plan found on AI and A2. For
better clarity please provide a separate existing and proposed floor plan. It appears that
the kitchen is not being remodeled as the job description in the application depicts.
