PURPOSE AND SCOPE
A field representative of CG Engineering was on site on April 20,2022 to provide a structural
observation of the garage and grade beam preparation for the slab placement. We met with the real
the owner's contractor representative Jim Cavenaugh.
OBSERVATIONS & RECOMMENDATIONS
Garage Slab Preparation-- I met with Jim this morning and things are going well.
There is one item that needs to be changed on the temporary piles supporting the back garage beam.
We will need to keep the shoring posts in while the concrete grade beam and garage slab is placed.
Howard's team will be back tomorrow to install the bearing plate on the two shoring piles. Jim will need
to provide a bond breaker on the two temporary shoring piles within the grade beam so that they can
be removed after the pour.
A high strength grout would be used to fill the two holes in the grade beam after the new wood post is
installed.
The rebar slab reinforcing should be epoxied into the perimeter foundations. Inspection of the epoxy
should be observed by a special inspector along with the rebar layout.
