Dear Miss Chen,
Per your request, Home Tech engineer performed an on -site inspection of the floor
joists in the bathrooms under remodeling on March 18, 2022
The floor joists are 2x10s. I noticed during the inspection that three joists were cut
larger holes for installing drainpipes and could not have the sufficient property to
function as a floor joist. Therefore, a proper repair of the floor framing is required.
Listed below is the floor framing repairing plan:
1, to add a full length (13-ft) 2x10 DF#2 or better at the existing floor joist indicated on
the photo-1;
2, to add a full length (13-ft) 2x10 DF#2 or better at the existing floor joist indicated
on the photo-2;
3, to install 2x8 blockings at 4' o.c. between new added 2x10s, as show in photos 1
and 2.
Please inform Home Tech engineer should you has any question regarding the letter.
