A Krazan representative visited the project site today for compaction testing.
Upon our arrival today, the contractor had completed the side sewer line for the new housing development of
the above specified project location. The trench line within the City of Edmonds right of way was backfilled
with imported 5/8-in minus, CSTC (crushed surfacing top course) to near surface elevation. The crushed rock
was imported from Pacific Top Soils as indicated by the contractor. We were informed by the contractor that
the crushed rock backfill was compacted using a hoe pack.
Today, we performed one (1) compaction test. Refer to compaction report no. 21362SCRO80421-NG for
compaction details. A sampled of the crushed rock was also collected at the site for laboratory testing. The lab
testing involves the material's maximum dry density (ASTM D1557: modified Proctor), gradation (ASTM
C136: sieve analysis) and moisture content (ASTM D2216: water content determination by mass). Site photos
are attached for reference.
To the best of my knowledge, the above WAS performed in general accordance to the approved plans and project specifications.

This testing does not preclude the possibility that the soil or hot mix asphal
may be loosened by future construction or rainfall events. The compaction
tests were performed at the approximate locations and elevations shown,
and indicate relative compaction at those locations. Horizontal and vertical
limits of the compacted areas were determined by others. Our firm does
not guarantee earthwork or paving construction, nor does our work relieve
the contractor's responsibility to conform to the approved project plans and
specifications.
To the best of my knowledge, the above WAS performed in accordance with the approved plans, specifications and regulatory requirements.
