UTILITY Material Notes:
SEMENT Concrete Planter and Entry Ramp Walls:
Footings to be 12"x6" thick concrete with #4 rebar set as needed, min. 2" from face of concrete. Top of footing to be a
min. of 4" below finish grade. Footing to be set over 4" of 5/8"- gravel compacted to 900, over a smooth firm sub grade.

Planter box Walls to be natural color concrete with smooth form board finish, 8" wide and at height as noted on plan. Set
all walls level. All exposed top and corner edges to have a 1" chamfer. Reinforce with #4 steel bar as needed and tie into
footing. Provide 1" pvc weep hole for drainage in wall and set 1/2" above finish grade of driveway. Set recessed light
fixture housing per manufacturers instructions 2" below top of wall and provide conduit for electrical connection. Use
native soil to fill bottom of box to within 1" of weep holes. Cover soil with filter fabric and then cover with 4" drain
rock above weep holes. Cover top of drain rock with filter fabric and fill with topsoil to within 6 " of top of planter.
Ramp to be 4" natural color concrete over 4" s"- gravel compacted to 900 over smooth compacted base. Surface to be light
broom finish swept cross slope. Provide cold tool control joints as noted on plan, cut min. 2" deep into surface of
concrete.
Curb to be 8" wide with structural steel as needed. Set top of curb 2" above surface of concrete ramp and follow grade of
ramp. Exposed corners top and side to have 1" camphor. Finish to match walls.
Concrete Stairs Stairs to be concrete natural color with #4 rebar as needed for reinforcement, over 4" of 5/8"- gravel
compacted to 900, over a smooth firm sub grade. Dowel stairs into planter concrete wall and driveway. Treads to be 15"
with 4" risers, light broom finish, parallel with treads. Seal concrete w/semi-gloss sealer after 28 day, or
appropriate curing period.
