1. All cooking equipment shall be located at least 6 inches under the approve hood.
2. Where pipe or conduit penetrates a duct or hood, the penetration shall have a liquid
tight continuous external weld or shall be sealed by a listed device.
3. Exhaust fans continue to operate during actuation of a kitchen hood fire extinguishing
system.

with ANSI Z21.69 and in accordance with manufacturerOs instructions.
9. Installer shall provide certification to the AHJ that installation is in agreement with the
terms of the listing and manufacturerlds instructions and approved design.
10. A permanent placard shall be installed in a visible location showing the type and
placement of cooking equipment being protected.
