PLEASE CONSIDER STRUCTURAL CORRECTIONS, AND CORRESPONDING RESPONSES
BELOW.
1. The combined weight of the hoods make up air units and associated equipment appears to
exceed 400#'s. In accordance with ASCE 7-10, a structural evaluation of the roof /ceiling
structural is required please provide documentation from a Washington state licensed engineer
of the adequacy of the assembly.
RESPONSE: The weight of the mechanical unit are 235 lbs each, which do not exceed 400 lbs is
need to be checked for seismic design according ASCE 7-10 section 13. Please refer to the attached
sheet S1 drawing shows assembly of kitchen hood with lateral bracing by using Unistrut. Please
see attached pages for design criteria and calculation for gravity and seismic loadings
