Based on your selections, the following information and requirements apply to your application.
Submittal Information
STREET USE SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS
A Street Use Permit is required to place or maintain in, over or under any public place, right-of-way, roadway, parking strip and/or sidewalk, including the air
space above them, any object that is temporary in nature. Street Use Permits are regulated under Edmonds Community Development Code (ECDC)
Chapter 18.70.
Temporary in nature means not having or requiring permanent attachment to the ground, or involving structures which have no required permanent
attachment to the ground.
Temporary objects include, but are not limited to signs, non-structural awnings, planters, benches, tables/chairs, flags, clothing racks, and
artwork. Exemption: Blade signs.
Sidewalk Dining is a use of the right of way that may also be permitted with a Street Use permit. To apply, please return to Project Type and select "Other
Project Types". See Handout #E75A for more information.
Property owners or business owners may apply for Street Use Permits and are responsible for providing and continually maintaining insurance. A new street
use permit must be applied for and obtained whenever there is a new business or property owner.
OTHER PERMITS & CODES:
When required, a separate building permit shall be issued in conjunction with the Street Use Permit. Street Use Permits shall comply with ECDC Chapter 18.70, as
well as ECDC Chapters 1 7.65, 1 7.70.040 and 20.60.080, and the current editions of the International Building Code and Sign Code.
FEES:
- Street Use Permit Fee plus City Surcharge.
SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Architectural Design Board approval, when applicable. Contact the Planning Division.
2. Site Plan showing area of use.
3. Certificate of Insurance, when applicable. This is not required for Moving Pods or Non -Construction Dumpsters. (see handout for sample certification
document)
4. Building Permit application, when applicable. Contact the Building Department.
5. Complete: Street Use Permit Application

Application and Electronic Plans Submission Process
Once the application and plans are received, the engineering division will screen the submittal within two business days of receipt. There are
two possible outcomes for your application:
1. The submittal will be accepted, and an invoice will be sent to the applicant via email. Payment of submittal fees are due upon receipt of
the invoice.
2. The submittal will not be accepted, and an email will be sent to the applicant outlining what is required to complete the application. The
applicant will have 30 days to submit the requested documents through the MyBuildingPermit.com Plan Review Dashboard.
Re -submittals
• Include a response letter addressing each of the comments.
• Submit the revisions to Permit Processing, not the reviewer, through your MyBuildingPermit.com Dashboard by clicking Submit Additional
Files.
• If the permit has not been issued, submit a full plan set.

Note:
The property owner bears the responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of all information provided with or affecting the application submittal.
If the property contains or is adjacent to critical areas (streams and stream buffers, wetlands, floodplains, and geological hazard areas), additional
information may be required.
