Hauss,
It’s 210 ft from the middle light to the edge of cul-de-sac. 210 ft falls within PUDs allowance (1 light) but, you are
requiring 180 ft? As you can see, I struggle with lights shining off site especially into houses.

What is the proposed spacing between the proposed light and the further point within the dead end street? If it’s less
than 180’, I agree that the 2nd light isn’t needed. If not, a 2nd light will need to be added. Thanks

Hauss,
I attached PUD’s response below. It looks like their preference is one light is sufficient. Are you ok with that?
Thanks, Jeff
Hello Jeff,
I am forwarding an email from Eddie Haugen, PUD Street Lighting Engineer. Attached is the Street Lighting Transmission
& Distribution Guideline. Per the PUD lighting standards, street lights are placed every 180’ to 220’. The lamination
extends over 220’ in both directions. The existing lighting plan and pattern covers into the cul-de-sac.

Hi Stephanie,
You might want to pass along to whomever it may concern that the reason we steer away from adding a SL on the end
of the cul-de-sac is because the light patten will spill light into the lots on the sides and not up and down the street as
the pattern is intended. Please see the illustration of patterns below…

Bertrand,
Is the shield a back shield or front shield? Back shields can have the tendency to reflect light making the situation
worse, in this case.

Subject: RE: Brackett's : Streetlights
Good morning,
Based on your proposed conditions, it appears that a light pole also needs to be added within the dead end portion of
the street (in order to meet FOOTCANDLE requirements / provide safe night-time conditions). If you believe this light
isn’t required, please demonstrate that by submitting a LIGHTING ANALYSIS. If light pollution within private property is
one of your concerns, a SHIELD (see black section shown below) can be added to the luminaire (in order to reduce the
amount of light going into private residences).
Thanks and let me know if you have any additional questions.

JoAnne,
Want to get you’re ok… To minimize LED light pollution, are you ok with one streetlight as PUD plans show? The city
added redlines on the PLN2021-0037 plans showing two streetlights.
See below. Thanks. Jeff
