Garrett Dean with GEO Group Northwest, Inc. was on site at the above address on February 7, 2023 for the
following geotechnical inspections.
Segmental Block Wall Construction
Block placement for the wall was completed prior to our arrival. In our opinion the blocks were placed according to
the project plan and are acceptable. Site soils which were to be used as wall backfill were siltier than those
encountered in the borings completed during our investigation. Therefore, backfill with the site soils was not
recommended. Per our recommendation, the retaining wall was backfilled to approximately 6 inches below the top
of the wall with free -draining material consisting of 1-1/2 washed drain rock. The rock was wrapped in non -woven
geotextile filter fabric. The rock was overlain with approximately 6 inches of site soils to promote vegetation.
The wall is complete at this time and is conformant to the project plans and acceptable in our opinion.
Erosion Control -Temporary
We did not observe flow of sediment -laden water off of the site. The mulch downslope of the wall has been tilled,
the silt fence and non -woven fabric silt catch have been removed at this time. Disturbed soils upslope of the wall
have been covered with plastic sheeting; planting of groundcover and vegetation upslope of the wall is planned.
Erosion controls for the site remain acceptable at this time.
