REVIEWED PLN RESUB1 BLD2022-0076 +UPDATED GEOTECH LETTER+3.16.2022_10.30.16_AM+2740828Robert M. Pride, LLC Consulting Engineer February 29, 2022 Mr. Jason Duncombe c/o Richard Okimoto AIA 9924 225th Place SW Edmonds, WA 98020 Re: Final Geotechnical Plan Review Proposed Residence Addition 18426 79th Place SW Edmonds, Washington Dear Mr. Okimoto, This report is in response to the city of Edmonds requirements regarding overall slope stability and appropriate building setback distances from the top of the existing slope located on the west side of this property. As previously stated the final plans have been reviewed and they are approved from the geotechnical point of view. As required they comply with ECDC 23.80.060. Detailed observations were made of the steep slope area to determine overall stability conditions of this slope. There was no evidence of any landslide activity or shallow slope instability on or adjacent to this property due to the dense glacial soils that have main- tained long term stability on this steep slope. Assessment of this 14 to 16 foot high steep slope area showed that it exceeded a factor of safety of 2.2 and would maintain permanent lateral and vertical support to the proposed residence addition and the new storage shed that will be 12 feet from the top of the slope on the south side of this site. Storm water will be collected from the roof areas and be discharged into the storm drain system along 79th Place NW. Rainfall that drops onto the flat rear and side yard areas will be absorbed by the upper topsoils and vegetation growth, and all this storm water has been acceptably discharged since this property was developed for residential use.
