Hi Michele
I have researched noise enclosure options and I am going to order a Zombie box noise enclosure
with a rubber pad and Z Shield Weather Guards. The box will be in Black ArmorPlate which provides
additional sound reduction. This is designed specifically for the Generac. All totaled this is going to
add about $3000.00 to the cost of this project .
I want to be clear that this is a Stand by Generator which will be run if there is a major power failure
. The exhaust port points away from my neighbor to the East and the unit is well within all the set
backs you mentioned. Furthermore the whole West side of the home to the East (the area that
borders my property) is actually the enclosed one car garage for the home. So the facts that the
generator will only be running occasionally ( which will likely be in severe weather or God forbid an
earthquake ) and I am taking on a very large expense to provide what is probably the best sound
reduction options for this type of system will meet your requirements.
