Denise,
The original plan and engineering had the beam resting on a nine inch wall on the North
side of the room. It said on the plan for the contractor to verify bearing below that nine
inch wall. As the contractor, we opened up the floor and there was no bearing under
where the wall as to be built. We contacted the architect and engineer and they come
up with the revision you now have. The difference is that now the beam goes all the
way to the exterior wall and for extra support they have required a 6x12 block in the
floor joists and a 4x6 column inside of the exterior wall. If you have further questions

We have the customer's (Scott Amy) condo torn apart and we are ready to install the
beam and finish the renovation. We were planning on being done with the renovation
before Christmas. We have already been waiting almost a month for the Architect and
Engineer to do the revision and we hope that we can get going again on the project, so
we can complete it as soon as possible. Please let me know if there is anything else I
