Our permit was initially approved for an extensive home remodel around April of 2017. The
estimated time of completion was 12-18 moths. Unfortunately the progress on the remodel
moved forward very slowly. The permit was extended twice up until March of 2020 when
COVID appeared. We were already almost three years into the project and our contractor was
unavailable to complete his work due to COVID restrictions and family concerns. He has been
only intermittently available to come back and finish the work. We have spoken to him multiple
times during this period about the importance of completing the inspection process. We have
given up asking and have been working to hire other contractors that could come in and finish
the work. This has been a difficult and slow process. While many of the initial inspection items
were completed, there were many that were not done either because the work was not
complete or our original contractor did not call in an inspection. My wife and I both work, we
do not have the time or expertise to complete the items that need to be completed. We are
now 99% done and I believe most of the work needed for the remainder of the inspections has
been completed.
