compliance with the City Architectural Design Board site design criteria for signs and multiple
Variances for signs. The applicant has proposed two separate sign variance requests, which are: 1)
An increase in the maximum number of freestanding signs permitted on the subject property from 3
to 9; 2) An increase in the allowable size of a wall sign defined by the ECDC as "Wall Signs" from
±400 square feet in area to 960 square feet in area. The subject property is located at 336 Admiral
Way and is zoned "Commercial Waterfront — CW."

concerns the staff s determination regarding whether or not a series of trees constitutes a "hedge"
and therefore is subject to size and location restrictions. The subject property for enforcement case
ZE-97-67 is located at 18916 Olympic View Drive.
