Engineer On Record addressing column changes at main floorcivil & structural ENGINEERING engineering &planning MEMORANDUM To: Lisa & Cory Johnson From: Dennis Titus, PE, SE, Associate Principal, CG Engineering cc: Date: April 19, 2022 Re: Cory Johnson Residence (CG Project #20456) 19726 88th Ave W Edmonds, WA 98026 Construction Revisions to Columns at Main Floor During a construction inspection for a single-family residential remodel project located at 19726 8e Ave W in Edmonds, the framing inspector observed that two (2) columns located at the main floor were not installed in accordance with the structural drawings. At the west wall in the gym area, a (3) 2x6 column was installed in lieu of a 6x6 column (see Photo 1). At the north wall within the bedroom, a (4) 2x6 column was installed in lieu of a 6x6 column (see Photo 2). Both columns were installed with (2) 2x members below the header and the remaining studs were installed full height to the underside of the top plate. We have reviewed the column loading against the as -built conditions and have determined that the columns are acceptable as installed. No upgrades will be required.
