J .� _ - V December 26, 1967 Mrs. Maurine Hunt 318 Berkshire Crystal bake, Illinois Re: Your Inquiry into the Status of Proposed Sanitary Sewer Project in which your Property, 17312-76th Ave. H., would be Located Dear firs. hunt: A petition requesting the installation of sanitary sewers was submitted to the City Council by some of the property owners of this area. The City Council held a public hearing in order to obtain a better under- standing of the general feelings of the people within the area. At that time, a preliminary engineering study was made by our consulting engineers to establish area involved, routes, estimates of construction costs and assessments required to finance the project on a local improvement district basis. Investigation was made by the Health Officer to establish a record of faulty septic drainfield systems that ". y be creating, a public health hazard within the area and the limit of futuf-e residential development without the use of sanitary sewers. Another public hearing; is to be held on January 16, 1968. At that time, the Council will review the findings of the preliminary studies and may or may not proceed with the formation of an L.I.D. In the event that they do, the actual area to be served will be estab Ltshed at that tine. At this point, the engineers shall prepare preliminary plans and assessment notices. These notices will then be mailed to the property owners after which another hearing will be held by the Council to determine if we are to proceed with this work. This will depend upon the attitude of the majority of the property owners. - continued - Mrs. Maurine Hunt Page 2 December 26, 1967 If in the opinion of the 14ayor and Council, based upon the Health Officer's reports, a public health hazard does exist, they may form an L.I.D. for sanitary sewers. On a health basis, the Council can override any objec- tions of the properties. I am in no position to speculate one way or the other in regards to this procedure. Enclosed you will find a sketch of your property which I believe is self-explanatory, together with a brief outline on the formation of an L.I.D. and how assessments are figured on the zone termini method.
