Request for Site Visit/Exemption for Geotech report
I would like to request a site visit along with a request for exemption of the requirement for a Geotech
in regards to the impact if the critical slope. The request is economically burdensome and extremely
difficult to comply with. We are doing such a small project, with no impact on the buffer for the hill. In
2016 we did a large addition and the city did not require a Geotech then, this small addition is not as
close to the hill as the last addition and we would like to show that in real time. With the 2016 project,
we did have a city inspector on site and I believe that is why we were not required to have a Geotech
report as we are very flat where building and the hill is very stable anywhere close to the structure.
In regards to the city code 23.40.230 Exemptions, I believe our project falls into number 2. Operation,
Maintenance or Repair. The activity does not further alter or increase the impact to, or encroach further
within the critical area or buffer and there is no increased risk to life or property as a result of the
proposed operation.
