Substitution for Holdowns
Dear Sirs,
I understand that during construction of the referenced residence, some of the LSTHD8
and LSTHD10 strap holdowns were not installed prior to pouring concrete.
At each of the locations involved, the LSTHD-type holdown shall be substituted with an
HDU2-SDS2.5 holdown attached to a double stud with (6) SDS1/4x2-1/2" screws and to
hardened concrete with a 5/8" all -thread rod embedded 6" minimum and set with
Simpson SET XP epoxy or approved equal.
