Hi Tamara,
Thank you for submitting your request to remove one (1) Lawson cypress tree located in the rear yard of
your property. Upon review, I can see from the Google Streets image where the tree is located on the
lot. Although GIS mapping indicates critical areas are present on your property, it appears the tree is not
located in an area prone to landslide hazards/steep slopes greater than 25% (orange and red below -
yellow denotes erosion hazard potential). Because of its location outside regulated critical areas, and the
size of your property does not allow further subdivision, you may remove the tree without a permit and
with no mitigation requirements for replanting. Since tree removal under these conditions is an allowed
activity per ECDC 23.10.040.A, I've noted PLN2022-0044 as "approved" in our permit database.
