Re: Kitchen Hood --in Fire Station
Attached is a pmposal from Erickson Manufacturing.
The following mvdificaiions to the HVAC system would be required for this hood to
work,, Provide a,sepaTate outside air duct with an electrical heating coif from blanked aft
louver to HVAC unft serving the kitchen, provide mtonze+ shut, off dampers in new
outside air duct and return duct. The outside air duct and the etsctrical heating coil
10
would be enabled when the hood fin is runn9na oniv The rAmannq fnr fhoao
madNlcat(ons
are
outlined
below.
We need to provide make-up air into the kitchen in order for this hood to work properly,
which would require tuming the kitchen HIJAC unit into a 100% outside air unit. An
electrical coil would be simpler and cheaperthen using a roster coil with a glycol loop
for freeze protection.
The reason for the need to rwdffy the mechanical system Is the following. CD1 didn't
have any information regarding this hood during the design, so we made provisions for
a residential type hood.
Please review this with the Fire department and !et us know if we should proceed and
Issue this change. The hood could be delivered in 1 Ma - 2 weeks after ordered is
received,
