STORM1_BLD20191189 and Inspect Agreementof EDM STO RM WATE R REVIEW COMMENTS City of Edmonds Engineering Division To: Applicant Date: October 28, 2019 Project Name: Wardak SFR Permit Number: BLD20191189 Address: 541 12t' Ave N Review Type: Building (SFR) Submittal Date: 9/19/2019 Reviewer: Zack Richardson, PE City of Edmonds, Stormwater Engineer Recommendation: I recommend that BLD20191189 be withheld until the comments below are adequately addressed. Review Comments: 1. Geotech: The plan proposes infiltration within 50' of a steep slope/landslide hazard area and requires geotechnical approval specific to siting the infiltration facility. Please include with next submittal a letter/memo of approval from the geotech which approves the proposed plan, referenced with plan dates as needed to confirm the plans reviewed by the geotech match those submitted for City approval. 2. Drainage Report: It is not clear that site conditions are conducive for permeable pavements; revise report to address the infiltration conditions at the bottom of the pervious pavements section and/or alter section dimensions as needed. a. Note: Full infiltration by any method is considered equivalent to permeable pavements for the sake of MR #5; the intent is not to bind the project any given BMP if infiltration can be achieved with other BMPs. 3. Drainage Report: Add text to section 4 (off -site analyses) to discuss the overflow path from the proposed system and impacts along the overflow path(if any). 4. Cl: Show in plan view, and add to the infiltration trench section, an observation port (as shown in SD-636). 5. C2: Update plan to address SWPP element 13 (protect LID features): a. Show construction (or silt) fencing to isolate the infiltration trench from vehicle/construction traffic before & after installation. Page 1 of 2 b. Show perimeter protection on the up -hill side of the infiltration trench to protect against sediment laden flows from uphill clearing after installation. c. It appears the pervious pavement area cannot be protected from construction traffic (proposed as construction entrance); add notes to contractor to over -excavate and obtain geotechnical approval prior to placing sub -grade materials for the pervious pavement section. 6. C5: Review SD-622 & SD-636 on this sheet and modify or remove any dimensions or notes, as needed, to avoid conflicting information with the BMPs as actually proposed (ie. cross out minimum depth and replace with 7' depth, adjust sub -grade thickness as needed, etc).
