Description:
• There is a girder drag truss specified over the new dining room. The truss
manufacturer cannot fabricate this truss due to the existing pitch and offset walls.
Can we substitute a beam for this location?

Response:
• Yes, you may substitute a 5.50" x 13.50" DF glulam beam in place of the girder
truss. Provide a sheathed pony wall atop the beam, framed as a shear wall "SW6"
with conventional nailing at a 6"/12" oc pattern.
