Garage ceiling 1 hour assembly changeRank Porowski, AIA Interurban Architects, LLC porowskl(kearthtink.net 600 — North 3611 Street, Ste 328 Seattle, WA, 98103 206 — 372.1015 RESPONSE TO THE CORRECTIONS ISSUED BY MR. LES KRESTEL, EDMONDS BUILDING INSPECTOR, FOR THE KISSAN TOWNHOME PROJECT AT 22808 - 22814 EDMONDS WAY, EDMONDS, WA 98020 Mr. Les Krestel, City of Edmonds, WA Dear Mr. Krestel, With regard to the Kissan Townhomes at Edmonds Way, Edmonds, WA, with addresses of 22808 for Bldg D, 22810 for Bldg A, 22812 for Bldg B and 22814 for Bldg C, I request that the typical 1-Hr-rated Det. E-A6, showing the GA File FC 5011 with double proprietary %" GWB Type X, be disregarded, particularly for all garage ceilings, in favor of the 1-Hr-rated single 5/8" GWB Type X, as shown in Dets. I-A6 and Q-A6. The builders installed the 5/8" Type X drywall already, so no field changes will be required, and the garages are all of fire-resistant construction of minimum 1-Hour, as provided by the 5/8" Type X. Best regards — Slawek Porowski Architect
