Initial compaction tests taken estimated to be below the 95% minimum compaction required (based on a RICE value of 152.6 as received from the asphalt batch plant). The Contractor rerolled asphalt and subsequent tests had improved densities. Sample of asphalt obtained from that being placed was taken to the Krazan lab for actual R.I.C.E. value determination & calculation of compaction test results. See compaction test report for additional information.
