You will still need special inspection on the pipe pile installation, epoxy and concrete. I am ok waiving
the ret of them if the city is also ok with that. Please check with your inspector first.

Dennis,
As we are continuing on the Flynn project is it possible to waive most of the special inspections except
for the concrete testing? As in the email below states that is the only test the city does not have the
ability to do?
I would love to save my owners money where I can as we have had to procure more permits and
expenses retaining to the bridge during this project.
If so, would you be able to send us a letter releasing these requirements with the exception of the
concrete testing?

Chris,
I just looked through the plans and verified your concern. The designing Engineer has made specific
efforts to obtain reports. At this time we will need to follow the requirements of the FOR unless you can
obtain a letter releasing these requirements with the exception of the concrete testing. The walls
require 4000psi and footings need 3000psi and will need to tested as we do not have the ability to test
concrete.

We are getting into rebar work and footings and I have been looking at my structural pages and they
state I need to get special inspections for just about all aspects of concrete and foundation work.
This is my first time running into this, normally I just schedule the required inspections with the city.
I had Geotech's out to inspect the installation of pin piles and I have an inspection report from them.
Just want to make sure I get all the correct inspections at the right times.
