THE FOLLOWING WAS NOTED:
Helical Piles:
AESI was onsite today at 10am, as requested by the contractor to observe and document helical pile installation.
The contractor set up and installed piles H2 and H2O today as shown on Figure 1. See Table 1 for helical installation
details. The helicals appeared to be installed to minimum specifications, per plan. Initially, H2 wasn't reaching a suitable
depth before pressure would spike to more than the max install torque. AESI recommended releasing the pressure from
the Digga HH-61K Screw Anchor Drive and unscrewing the helical before attempting to push through the obstruction, but
the several attempts using this method also reached max pressure. At the discretion of the contractor, H2 was drilled
again with the intent of pushing past the max installation PSI. During this attempt, the helical was drilled to suitable depth
without going past the max install PSI, moving past what was previously obstructing it.
AESI asked the contractor about whether the helical piles used to perform the load test on H10 would be left or removed.
Evan from Advanced Foundation Supports said the helical piles would be removed, but it wasn't specified when this
would occur.
Work finished at 2:00PM, and AESI plans to return Thursday (12/1) to continue observing helical pile installation.
