THE FOLLOWING WAS NOTED:
Helical Piles:
AESI was onsite today at 10am, as requested by the contractor to observe a load test on a previously installed helical pile.
The contractor previously installed a reaction helical pile on either side of pile H10 (see FR008) to perform the load test.
See Table 1 for install details. A large steel beam was then fitted on top of the reaction piles and bolted in place. A load test
was then performed on pile H10. During the load test, a load was applied in 25% increments until 200% of the design load
of the pile (28 kips) was achieved. The final load was held for 20 minutes to monitor creep. Following this, the load was
decreased in 25% increments back to the initial load before the test began. In our opinion, the load test was successful and
verified a factor of safety equal to at least 2 for the design load.
