LATERAL DESIGN for Remodel
Dear Sir or Madam,
Due to the small nature of the two additions planned for the Rodman Residence, I do not believe a
lateral analysis is necessary. The increase in roof area is well below the usual 5% threshold as the
proposed increase is only a 1.2% change.
Also, the opening widths at doors and windows will be reduced in both North -South and East-
West directions. In neither direction will there be an increase in wind sail area.
Proposed area for one new addition is 25 sq feet and the enclosure of a deck area is 40 sq feet that
has a floor and roof above. Neither addition are wider than four feet.
