Edmonds is my home since 2004 and I am very proud of this community that values visual and performing arts so highly in education and for general enrichment that it has become an integral part of all our daily lives in Edmonds. It is time I think that I offer my support, long years of experience and expertise in music and the performing arts to the city that I love and call home. Growing up in Europe I made classical music and theater my profession, acting in plays, singing opera and teaching the art of voice and drama. I am an educator now. With the programs of ECA, Driftwood Players, Concerts in the Park, Jazz at the Port of Edmonds and many others - plus all the visual art programs, Edmonds is a buzzing hub of creativity and I truly enjoy and support each and every one of the programs. Artists, performers and musicians need all of our support. Looking to the future I am wondering if there was room and interest for engaging teenagers and young adults from diverse backgrounds in a summer program like « Shakespeare in the Park (and it does not have to be Shakespeare), and equally challenge young singers and classical musicians to perform scenes from musical theatre and light opera ? Besides with all the terrific indoor venues that we have in Edmonds ( ECA, EWC, Graphite, Cascadia Art Museum, Frances Anderson Center ) young performing artists can be provided year-round with a stage to make their first steps into the lime light to show and test their talents I have time on my hands as I have retired from performing opera professionally, I am retired from university teaching, I do teach voice privately in Edmonds, and I like to produce and promote young artists because I see what a transformation it can make in their lives. If you feel that my experience and expertise could serve the Edmonds Arts Commission well, I would be pleased and honored to be invited and meet with you for an interview. Looking forward to hearing from you. Sincerely,(- Ute Freund Packet Pg. 8 Resume 2.3.a Ute Christiane Freund 535 Third Ave.N, Edmonds, 98020 Conbellavoce@gmail.com, 5104809231 Education: Masters in Music, Opera Performance and Pedagogy University Hamburg, Germany, 1980 Work: Now semi -retired.
