Board Meeting April 11, 2024 Meeting called to order: 8:03 AM Approval of Previous Meeting's Minutes: Mar 14, 2024 moved by Jason, seconded by Kimberly, unanimous approval Public Comment: none Board Members/Administration in Attendance: Jen Lawson, Olivia Brown -Latham, Venus Forteza, Beth Sanger, Ricki Bobadilla, Lisa Epstein, Kimberly Koenig, Jason Arnhill, Robert Boehlke, Cheryl Farrish City of Edmonds Representative in Attendance: Megan Luttrell, Todd Tatum Guests: Christine Harris (Camp Vintage), Whitney Popa, Theresa Williams (Gallery North), Sheila Cloney (Anchor Chic), Christine Brennan (Little Bipsy), Jen Cullen (Paper Feather), Rachel Gardner (Musicology) President's Report: Last Month as President, annual meeting notice, Kimberly reported on BID restructure possibility, working with a consultant, the city is offering 10,000 and asking the BID to contribute $5,000 towards the consultant work. Motion to approve $5,00 from the fund balance for Uncommon Bridges consultant. Moved by Kimberly, seconded by Jen. Tood Tatum covered some history and the position of the city. General discussion. Treasurer's Report: presented by Jason, nothing new. Billing issues from the city still being worked out. New Businesses Added to BID: Ricky-Jan/Feb: Dimensions, inc, Ristorante Macciavelli, K&W multiworks, Lava Nails, Copper Rose, Ballast City Report: Todd- Bike race is not going to happen this year, not a lot of support from the business community. Maybe a different time of year/route. Pride Edmonds: Press release soon. Story telling at the library once a week in June, picnic in the park, ECA movie night, 22nd of June Civic Field, music and stage, tent, storyteller, public art, market, beer garden. Looking for sponsors. City is moving to priority -based budgeting. Budget is being revisited this year. Chamber Program: Olivia announced the Chamber Foundation Laugh a Thon fundraiser for the WISH fund. May 4th. The Chamber Foundation is also looking for board members, especially those with non-profit and fundraising expertise. You do not need to be a Chamber member to serve or receive WISH fund grants. Committee Updates • Marketing: nothing yet for summer. • Communication and Outreach: Ricky & Sheila -possibly changing the welcome packet to simplify. Swag? Mugs-$4-6 each if we order in bulk. To replace the folder. Annual meeting. Take the survey, vote for board members. Appearance & Environment: Venus Forteza-Pride Stride punch card to include retailers, with minimum purchase, get donated gift cards as prizes. June1-22. Possible new vinyl mural where the orca is. Window cling map location ideas. Larger one with map + QR code, smaller one with just the QR code, with messaging for different types of businesses.
