A final inspection was conducted today to approve the installation of the 3,000-gallon gravity
grease interceptor at the subject property. Upon inspection, there are deficiencies with the
installation and corrections are required as specified below.
• Install a six-inch (6") inlet tee reaching to about 12" from the floor,
• Install a six-inch (6") outlet tee reaching to about 12" from the floor,
• Install a six-inch (6") tee or elbow on the passageway between the compartments that reaches
about 12" from the floor,
• Inlet, transition, and discharge tees to be 6" PVC. Stainless steel strap and 5/8" anchor bolts
are a minimum standard connection method to secure the tees to the interceptor,
• Recommend gasketed, watertight manhole lids/castings should be placed above each tee and
are to be graded in such a manner as to prevent runoff/water from entering the interceptor,
• Recommend adding fresh water to the vault as soon as practical to help maintain the structural
integrity of the vault,
Upon completion of the above tasks, please notify me for a follow-up inspection. Pretreatment
approval is anticipated prior to final paving over the GGI.
