TECHNICAL CONSIDERATIONS (NOT FOR FIELD ENGINEER'S USE): Products designated USL have been investigated using US requirements as noted in the Test Record. Products designated CNL have been investigated using Canadian requirements as noted in the Test Record. This products covered by this Report are swimming pool equipment pack assemblies, consisting of various combinations of Listed and Certified swimming pool circulating pumps, mechanical filters, swimming pool controllers, chlorinators, swimming pool luminaire power unit, gas heater and associated conduit and plumbing connections. These swimming pool equipment assemblies are intended for installation only inside in the Applicant's prefabricated swimming pools constructed from modified shipping containers, in an equipment bay or alcove that is a separated but integral section of the overall shipping container pool assembly The alcoves or equipment bay dimensions may vary from a maximum of 8 feet high by 12 feet wide by 5 feet deep to a minimum of 3 feet high by 8 feet wide by 4 feet deep. The shipping container pool is not covered by this certification. Only the swimming pool equipment pack is covered by this certification. The model designation indicates the overall pool dimensions. Corrosion Protection - All ferrous metal parts except staples, nails, bearings, laminations and screws are protected from corrosion by enameling, galvanizing, plating or painting. Spacings - For units bearing the UL Mark, spacings through -air and over -surface between terminals and between terminals and other insulated parts, not always of the same polarity and between uninsulated live parts and dead -metal parts shall be a minimum of 6.4 mm (1/4 inch) for field wiring terminals. Spacings - Other than at field wiring terminals, minimum spacings of 2.4 mm (3/32 inch) through -air and over -surface maintained current -carrying parts of opposite polarity and between current -carrying parts. Spacings in a Class 2 circuit are not specified. Spacings - For units bearing the C-UL Mark, spacings shall be same as above, except a minimum of 6.0 mm between uninsulated live parts and transformer secondary circuits and 3.0 mm between the parts specified above. Equipment Grounding Bus - Mounted on inside of each Listed component wiring compartment where the equipment -grounding conductors are to be connected. It is capable of securing a copper conductor of a size corresponding to the rating of the equipment, No. 12 AWG to 6 AWG. The bus is plainly shown to be intended for such connection by means of the marking "G", "GR", or "Grounding", and is located so that removal during normal servicing or replacement of components will be unlikely. Grounding conductors utilize only closed -loop or spade with upturned tang connectors. Solder shall not be used for grounding connections. Bonding - The metal enclosures of each electrical component shall be bonded to the equipment grounding means. Bonding shall be conductive metal -to -metal mounting or a minimum No. 8 AWG, solid copper conductor for UL marked units and No. 6 AWG, solid copper conductor for C-UL marked units. All bonding connectors are Listed, CN, pressure wire connectors suitable for use with the size and number of conductors used, secured to the Bonded Components by threaded connections. Where metal -to -metal securement of painted or plated dead -metal is employed and depended upon for the continuity of the grounding and bonding network, parts are secured with bolts, nuts, and paint -breaking star washers or the painted surfaces may be scraped in lieu of paint breaking star washers. Only the connector employed at the control box for bonding may be suitable for use with more than one bonding conductor. File E513530 Vol. 1 Sec. 1 Page 5 Issued: 2021-00-00 and Report Internal Wiring - Unless otherwise specified, all internal wiring is R/C (AVLV2/8), CN, minimum No. 14 AWG, rated minimum 90°C, 300 V. Internal wiring located in a class 2 circuit are R/C (AVLV2/8), CN, rated minimum 90°C, 300 V. when internal wiring located in Class 2 are not rated min. 300 V, the wiring shall be R/C (AVLV2/8), CN, rated minimum 90°C, 30 V, permanently segregated from high voltage circuits. All wire connectors and quick connectors are Listed, CN, crimp -on types suitable of the size and number of wires employed and are applied with the crimping tools specified by the connector manufacturer. Solder shall not be used for grounding connections. Heat shrink tubing is R/C (YDPU2/8), CN, rated minimum 90°C, 300 V. Wires within an enclosure, compartment, or raceway shall be located or protected to reduce the likelihood of contact with any sharp edges, burrs, fins, moving parts, or the like that may abrade the insulation on conductors, or otherwise damage the wiring. Wiring Connections - All wire connectors and quick connectors are Listed crimp -on type suitable for the size and number of wires, and applied with crimping tools specified by the connector manufacturer. Where soldering is employed, the leads are made mechanically secure prior to soldering. Splices - Splices are to be made mechanically and electrically secured and unless an acceptable splice device is used, shall be soldered. A soldered joint and a joint made with an uninsulated pressure wire connector (solderless connection) shall be covered with insulation equivalent (including thickness) to that on conductors. Conduit - Listed Liquid -Tight, Flexible Nonmetallic Conduit (DXQQ/7) and Listed Conduit Fittings (DWTT/7) rated for the size and type of conduit are used for all interconnections between Listed components. Mounting - The enclosure of each electrical component is mounted such that the lowest portion of any live part is at least 102 mm (4 inch) above the supporting surface. Drainage - All enclosures containing electrical components other than the motor shall have provisions for drainage. The enclosure of each electrical component is mounted such that the lowest portion of any live part is at least 102 mm (4 inch above the supporting surface. Plumbing - All plumbing provided is either rigid Schedule 40 PVC pipe or flexible PVC. All connections are made by solvent welding or threaded fittings such as reducing bushings or union fittings. Wiring Diagram - A Wiring Diagram shall be attached to each field -wiring compartment of permanently wired and convertible products. The Wiring Diagram may be a paper sticker glued or shellacked inside the field -wiring compartment, and shall be marked "Use copper conductors only." File E513530 Vol. 1 Sec. 1 Page 6 Issued: 2021-00-00 and Report File E513530 Vol. 1 Sec. 1 Page 7 Issued: 2021-00-00 and Report VERIFICATION OF ACCEPTABLE COMPONENTS: The Field Representative shall verify that the Recognized Component Terminal Blocks, described in this Procedure, are suitably rated for the specifications noted in each individual description from the Recognized Component - Directory under Terminal Blocks (XCFR2/8), CN. VERIFICATION OF CSA CERTIFIED COMPONENTS: The descriptions of certain components in this Report contain the notation "CN". "CN" indicates that the component has been evaluated to Canadian requirements. If the Listed equipment pack product described in this Procedure bears the C-UL Mark, whenever "CN" appears in the component description, the Field Representative shall confirm that the component has a Canadian UL Listing Mark, a Canadian UL Recognition Mark, or an equivalent identifier that is specifically indicated as part of the component description. MARKINGS: Each unit is marked with the following. The words CAUTION and WARNING markings shall be in letters at least 3.2 mm (1/8 in.) high. The capital letters of all other markings shall be minimum 1.6 mm (1/16 in.) high. Markings shall be in the exact words specified or in equally definitive terms. Marking adjacent to Disconnect Switch. 1. The complete units shall be marked with company name, model number, and electrical rating (volts, and current or wattage), on the product or the smallest unit packaging. Markings shall be visible during installation. 2. The nameplate shall be include the components provided with the specified equipment assembly. 3. The wiring diagram shall be marked to indicate that the unit is to be connected to a circuit that is protected by a ground -fault circuit interrupter. The marking shall indicate which circuits are to be so protected. 4. "WARNING" and the following or equivalent statement: "Prevent Electrocution. Disconnect Power Before Servicing" and AVERTISSEMENT: DECONNECTER DU CIRCUIT D'ALIMENTATION ELECTRIQUE AVANT L'ENTRETIEN or equivalent. 5. CAUTION: Read The Instruction Manual and ATTENTION : LIRE LA NOTICE TECHNIQUE, or equivalent 6. Date or period of manufacture not exceeding any three consecutive months. 7. "CAUTION" and the following or equivalent statement: "Use supply wires suitable for 75°C." near supply connections. 9. The equipment grounding terminal shall be plainly marked "G", "GR", "Grounding", or with the international grounding symbol. (IEC 60417, Symbol 5019) 10. Shall be marked with the input terminal block and grounding bar rated wire gauges and rated torque values. 11. When provided, the convenience receptacle is marked 120 V, 60 Hz, 12 A. Markings are applied on adhesive -back, pressure -sensitive labels shall be R/C - Marking and Labeling Systems (PGDQ2/8) or Printing Materials (PGJI2/8), suitable for surface to which it is applied and suitable where exposed indoors or outdoors to high humidity or occasional exposure to water. The labels shall have a minimum operating temperature of minus 35°C and a maximum operating temperature of at least 75°C. INSTRUCTIONS: Each unit shall be provided with installation instructions, operating instructions, user -maintenance instructions, and important safety instructions. The installation instructions shall include information on supply wiring, proper connection to the supply circuit, and bonding. When the unit is rated for use with more than one supply voltage or with multiple supply circuits, appropriate instructions shall be provided for each application. The Installation and Use Guide provided with each gas -fired heater shall be included with the equipment assembly instructions. The important safety instructions shall be separated in format from the other instructions and shall appear before the operating and user -maintenance instructions. The important safety instructions shall be in the exact words specified or shall be in equally definitive terms. No substitution shall be made for the words "WARNING" and "DANGER." The first and last items specified in the important safety instructions shall be first and last, respectively. Other precautionary items considered appropriate by the manufacturer may be included. (Notes to the manufacturer are in parentheses.) The letter size in the important safety instructions shall be as follows: a) Uppercase letters shall be no less than 2.1 mm (1/12 inch) high; b) Lowercase letters shall be no less than 1.6 mm (1/16 inch) high; and c) The phrases "IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS," "READ AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS," and "SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS" shall be in letters no less than 4.8 mm (3/16 inch) high. File E513530 Vol. 1 Sec. 1 Page 9 Issued: 2021-00-00 and Report When installing and using this electrical equipment, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following: IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS 1. READ AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS. 2. WARNING - To reduce the risk of injury, do not permit children to use this product unless they are closely supervised at all times. 3. A wire connector is provided on this unit to connect a minimum 6 AWG (8.4 mmz) solid copper conductor between this unit and any metal equipment, metal enclosures of electrical equipment, metal water pipe, or conduit within 5 feet (1.5 m) of the unit. An equipment assembly shall be additionally provided with the following important safety instructions: 4. WARNING - Risk of Accidental Drowning. Extreme caution must be exercised to prevent unauthorized access by children. To avoid accidents, ensure that children cannot use a spa or hot tub unless they are closely supervised at all times. 5. DANGER - To reduce the risk of drowning from hair and body entrapment, install a suction fitting(s) with a marked flow rate that equals or exceeds the flow rate marked on the equipment assembly. 6. DANGER - To reduce the risk of injury, do not remove the suction fittings. Never operate a spa or hot tub if the suction fittings are broken or missing. Never replace a suction fitting with one rated less than the flow rate marked on the equipment assembly. 7. DANGER - Risk of Electric Shock. Do not permit any electric appliance, such as a light, telephone, radio, or television, within 5 feet (1.5 m) of a spa or hot tub. 8. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS. Installation Instructions - A sample of the installation instruction is shown in ILL. 1.
