Installation ease. The i3 line redefines installation ease with its
plug-in design. This allows an installer to pre -wire bases (included
with heads). The large wire entry port and in -line terminals provide
ample room for neatly routing the wiring inside the base. The base
accommodates a variety of back box mounting methods as well as
direct mounting with drywall anchors. To complete the installation, P
heads plug into the base with a simple Stop-Drop'N Lock' action.
Intelligence. i3 detectors offer a number of intelligent featuies
to simplify testing and maintenance. Drift compensation and
smoothing algorithms are standard with the il line to minimize
nuisance alarms. 2-wire i3 detectors can generate a remote LED -
indicated maintenance signal when connected to the 2W-MOD2
loop test/maintenance module or a panel equipped with the R
protocol.The SENS-RDR, a wireless device, displays the sensitiVityof i3
detectors in terms of percent -per -foot obscuration.
Instant inspection. The P series provides wide-angle red and
green LED indicators for instant inspection of the detector's
condition: normal standby, out -of -sensitivity, alarm, or freeze trouble.
When connected to the 2W-MOD2 loop test/maintenance module
or a panel with the P protocol, the EZ Walk loop test feature is
available on 2-wire P detectors. This feature verifies the initiating loop
wiring by providing LED status indication at each detector.
(-C*) Smoke Detector Specifications
Smokedetecto. shall be a System Sensor*15etes model number listed to Undervoiters Laboratories UL 268 for Fire Protection Signaling Systems,The
detector shall be a photoelectric type (Model 2W-B, 4W-B) or a combination photoelectfic/theirtial (Model 2WT-13, 4W`17-13) with thermal sensor rated at 1 35'F
(5 7.2C).The detectoi shall include a mounting base for mounting to 31/2-inch and 4Anch octagonal, single -gang, and 4-inch square back boxes with a plaster
ring, or directmount to the ceiling using drywall anchor5. Wiring connections shall be rnade by rneans of SEMS screws. The detector shall allow pre-wirling of the
base and the head shall be a plug-in type. 11he detector shall nave a nominal sensitivity of 2.5 percent -per -foot nominai as measured in the UL smoke cox, T ne
detector shall oe capable of automatically adjusting its sensitivity by means of dr'ft compensation and smoothing algoftnins.-he detecto. shall provide dual -

Wireless mesh networking is an
innovative technology adopted by many
industries with applications that need to
communicate data over a large geographic
area with a high level of reliability at a low
total cost of ownership.
The advanced design and 2-way commu-

SpectrAlert* Advance selectable -output horns, strobes,
and horn/strobes are rich with features guoranteed to
cut installation times and maximize prots.
The SpectrAllert Advance series of notification appliances is
designed to simplify installations, with features such as plug in
designs, instant feedback messages to ensure correct installation of
individual devices, and 11 field -selectable candea settings for wall
and ceiling strobes and horn/strobes.
When installing Advance products, first attach a universal mounting
plate to a four -inch square, four -inch octagon or double -gang
junction box. The two -wire mounting plate attaches io a single -gang
junction box.
Next, connectthe notification appliance circuit wiring to the SEMS
terminals on the mounting plate.
Finally, attach the horn, strobe or horn/strobe to the mounting plate
by inserting the product's tabs in the mounting plate's grooves. The
device will rotate into position, locking the product's pins into the
mounting plates terminals. The device will temporarily hold in place
with a catch until it is secured with a captured Mounting screw.
The SpectrAlert Advance series includes outdoor notification
appliances. Outdoor strobes and horn/strobes (two wire and four
wire) are available for wall or ceiling. Outdoor horns are available for
wall only. All System Sensor outdoor products are rated between
minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit and 151 degrees Fahrenheit in wet or
dry applications.

PERFORMED AS ACTUAL BUILDING CONSTRUCTION CONDITIONS ALLOW
AND TO MINIMIZE PENETRATIONS THROUGH AREA SEPARATION WALLS
AND FIRE WALLS. THE USE OF A RACEWAY IS PERMITTED AS LONG
AS NO 110V OR HIGHER VOLTAGE CABLES ARE IN THE SAME
RACEWAY.
6. FIRE RATINGS SHALL BE MAINTAINED FOR ALL PENETRATIONS
THROUGH FIRE -RATED CONSTRUCTION.
7. POWER FOR ALL FIRE ALARM PANELS AND FIRE ALARM POWER
SUPPLIES MUST BE PROVIDED BY A DEDICATION AC BRANCH
CIRCUIT. THE LOCATION OF THE BRANCH CIRCUIT BREAKER SHALL
BE PERMANENTLY IDENTIFIED AT THE CONTROL UNIT AND SHALL
HAVE A RED MARKING IN ACCORDANCE WITH NFPA 72.
8. POWER -LIMITED AND NON POWER -LIMITED CIRCUIT WIRING MUST
REMAIN SEPARATED IN CABINET. ALL POWER -LIMITED CIRCUIT
WIRING MUST REMAIN AT LEAST 0.25' AWAY FROM ANY
NONPOWER-LIMITED CIRCUIT WIRING. FURTHERMORE, ALL
POWER -LIMITED AND NONFOWER-LIMITED CIRCUIT WIRING MUST
ENTER AND EXIT THE CABINET THROUGH DIFFERENT KNOCK OUTS
AND/DR SEPARATE CONDUITS,
9. WHEN UTILIZING CLASS 'A' CIRCUITS, SEPARATE OUTGOING AND
RETURN CONDUCTORS OF CLASS 'A' CIRCUITS BY A MINIMUM OF 12
WHERE RUN VERTICALLY AND 48i' WHERE RUN HORIZONTALLY.
10. WHEN UTILIZING SHIELDED CABLE TIE SHIELDS THROUGH AND
INSULATE AT EACH JUNCTION BOX. INSULATE AND TAPE BACK AT
END.

CEILING.
14. PROVIDE SYNCHRONIZATION OF ALL VISUAL NOTIFICATION
APPLIANCE CIRCUITS. PROVIDE ALL REQUIRED SYNC MODULES.
PROVIDE A MULTI -SYNC MODE SLAVE CONNECTION BETWEEN ALL
SYNC MODULES,
15. VERIFY ALL FIELD SELECTABLE AUDIBILITY SETTINGS OF
NOTIFICATION APPLIANCES WITH FIRE ALARM CONTRACTOR,
16, UPON COMPLETION OF THE FIRE ALARM SYSTEM INSTALLATION AND
PROGRAMMING, THE INSTALLING CONTRACTOR SHALL PERFORM FINAL
TESTING OF THE ENTIRE SYSTEM, PER ALL APPLICABLE CODES. AND
SHALL COORDINATE AND PERFORM A FINAL FIRE ALARM SYSTEM
