To the city of Edmonds: The Carmel Condominium HOA has contracted with Belfor
Property Restoration to perform the required repairs to Unit #204 of the Carmel
Condominium (located at 655 Main Street in Edmonds) along with the community room
and exterior repairs at the storage area locations on the rear of the building. We need
this process to be expedited in order to facilitate the relocation of the owners that have
been displaced by the fire that occurred in October of 2018. Please let me know if there
is any other issue that we need to address to move this forward.

Plan provides designs to repair ketwater damage to this existing daylight basement parking garage /Common area of this 3-story condominium reportedly constructed in 1969. Fire originating the Ist story
dwelling unit located immediately above the daylight parking garage basement resulted in water damage to gypsum drywal] of tne existing 1 -Hr rated floorloe[ling of the parking garage as well as water
damage to the Non -Rated floodoeiling of the adjacent basement Common Area.
Exisling firestopped through penetrations for plumbing, efectAcal and mechanical will remain. Plumbing access doors through the basement parking garage ceiling shall be relplaced wth Listed 1-hr fire
access doors. Damaged or missing through penetration firestops will be installed with like kind 4# cubic ft. mineral wool in compliance win the 1967 UBC code.
Any now penetration of a fire rated horizontal floor or fire rated vertical wall shall, required by the 1967 UBC, shall be finestopped! in accordance with the 2015 fBC. section 714, using tested and Listed
through penetration firestops. The installing contractor shall source a UIL or Intertalk L�sling assembly compatible with the barner rating and its surrounding construction, An Engineering Judgement from the
firestop manufacture may be required.
Extenor walls and floors opened during repair will be insulated in compliance with current WA State Energy Code Chapter 51 -11 R
