2. Applications 3M Fire Barrier Duct Wrap 615+ is an ideal fire resistive enclosure for
commercial kitchen grease ducts and ventilation air ducts. It is a proven alternative to a I - or 2-hour fire-resistant
rated shaft enclosures for grease ducts and provides zero clearance to combustible construction throughout
the entire enclosure system (per ICC-ES ESR- 1255). 3M Fire Barrier Water Tight Sealant 1000 NS
3M Fire Barrier Water Tight Sealant 1003 SL or 3M- fire Barrier Silicone Sealant 2000+ is used in
combination with 3M- Fire Barrier Duct Wrap 615+ to firestop the duct when the duct penetrates fire -rated
floor or wall assemblies. 3M Fire Barrier Duct Wrap 615+ also provides a firestop solution where a T-rating
is required for penetrations located outside wall cavities or outside fire -resistance rated shaft enclosures.

2-Laver Grease Duct Note: This general instruction for applying 3M Fire Barrier Duct Wrap 615+ details a two -layer AlTap installation of
Method (ASTM E 2336) 3M- Fire Barrier Duct Wrap 615+ blanket applied directly to a grease duct. To minimize waste, the 3M- Fire Barrier
Duct Wrap 615+ material should be rolled out tautly before measuring. The first laver of 3MT' Fire Barrier Duct
Wrap 615+ blanket is wrapped around the perimeter of the duct and is cut to a le4h to either butt to itself or overlap
itself not less than 3" (76.2mm). The interface between adjacent blankets forms the "longitudinal" joint. Inner layer
longitudinal joints can be tightly butted joints or they should overlap onto adjacent blankets with a min. 3" (76.2nim)
overlap. Aluminum foil or FSK tape is used to seal all cut edges of the blanket and any tears in the foil scrim. This
first layer is temporarily held in place using filament tape. Te first layer does not require steel banding.
The second layer of 3 )M- Fire Barrier Duct Wrap 615+ is wrapped around the perimeter of the previously installed
first laver of 3M- Fire Barrier Duct Wrap 615+. The other layer perimeter (lateral) joints should be offset a minimum
3" (76.2mm) from the inner layer perimeter joints. Tile perimeterjoints should be a minimum 3" (76.2mm) overlap.
Offset the outer layer longitudinal joints a minimum 10.5" (26.7cm) from the inner layer longitudinal joints. The
outer laver longitudinal joints should be a minimum 3" (76.2mni) overlap. The one exception to this rule is the "Butt
Joint whili Collar Method" where it is permissible for the longitudinal joints to be tightly butted and then covered with
a minimum 6" wide collar centered over it. These are available pre -made (3M` Fire Barrier Duct Wrap 615+ Collar).
The second laver of wrap can be temporarily held in place using filament tape. Tile second layer of wrap requires
permanent fastening with stainless (or carbon) steel banding, or'with rows of Aveld pins (impaling or cup -head style).

Access Door Four galvanized steel threaded rods, 1/4" diameter (6.35mrn) by 4-1/2" to 5" long (I 14.3mm to 127mm) are welded to
Installation the duct at the comers of the door opening. Four steel tubes, each 3 )" (76.2mm) long, are placed over the rods to act as
protection for tile 3 )N4- Fire Barrier Duct Wrap 615+, and to transfer the wing nut force to the access door, when fastening
the door. Four insulation pins are welded to the door panel for installation of the blanket. One layer of 3M` Fire Barrier
Duct Wrap 615+ is sized approximately 1/2" to I " larger than the access door on all sides and impaled over the insulation
pins on the panel. It is essential that this layer fit tightly against the wrap surrounding the access door opening with no
through openings. A second layer of 3M Fire Barrier Duct Wrap 615+ is cut to overlap the first layer by a minimum of
I " (25.4nini). Impale the second layer over the pins. A third layer of 3M Fire Barrier Duct Wrap 615+ is cut to overlap
the second layer by a minimum of I " (25.4nim). The third layer is impaled over the pins and all three layers are locked
in place with galvanized or stainless steel speed clips. Pins that extend beyond the outer layer of 3M- Fire Barrier Duct
Wrap 615+ should be turned down or cut off to avoid sharp points on the door. The insulated door panel is placed over the
threaded rods and held in place with washers and wing nuts. The details are show-n in Figure 3. Tile details for installing

Penetrations When the duct penetrates a fire rated wall, ceiling or floor, an approved firestop systern must be employed. Figures 19-21
illustrate typical conditions. To firestop the wrapped duct, follow the installation parameters detailed in a compatible
ASTM E 814 tested through -penetration firestop design. Note: Through -penetration designs in which the duct is bare
where it passes through combustible or limited -combustible construction (e.g. gypsurn \valls or Nvoodjoist floor -ceiling
assemblies) are appropriate for ventilation duct scenarios only. It is not appropriate for bare. uninsulated grease ducts to
pass through combustible assemblies. Intertek- 3MU/DI design listings contain through penetration details. See system

GUIDE
WALK-IN SPECIFICATIONS
Kold LockerTm walk-ins are built of modular panels, and are
insulated with foamed -in -place EPA -compliant polyurethane
insulation. Each panel is designed to ensure ease of installa-
tion, long term reliability and high insulating efficiency.
A. All panels are manufactured with male and female mat-
ing rails to ensure proper alignment during installation.
The polyurethane insulation wraps around the return bend
metal seams on both section to create a lightweight panel of
exceptional strength and durability. All panels are a full four
(4) inches thick and provide a superior insulating value. The
foamed -in -place cam locking fasteners ensure an airtight seal
for maximum energy efficiency.
B. The foamed-in-piace cam locking fasteners ensure an
airtight seal for maximum energy efficiency.
C. Kold Locker TM panel gaskets around the outer perimeter of
the panel are continuous, without cuts or breaks at corners.
The Nor -Lake patented gasket design provides a foamed -in -
place gasket as an integral part of the panel. Gaskets cannot
fall off or pull off during shipment or installation.
D. Panels lock together tightly to assure an energy efficient
walk-in.
-.7
A. B. C.
E. Edge caps for ends of floor and ceiling panels are foamed -
in -place rather than overlapped or mechanically fastened.
Edge caps cannot come loose, and they stay in place through
the life of the walk-in.
F. Panel Finishes: Interior and exterior complete to be 26
gauge corrosion resistant stucco embossed coated steel.
Models supplied with a floor will include a smooth aluminum
interior floor surface.
G. Insulation: Panels to be four (4) inches thick, metal clad
and foamed-irt-place with HFC-245fa polyurethane insulation
which is CFC and HCFC free.

FLOOR CONSTRUCTION
Floor panels (when supplied) are similar in construction to
the wall panels except they are made to withstand uniformly
distributed floor loads of up to 800 pounds per square foot.
The interior floor metal is smooth aluminum.
The 74 Series, floorless models, are supplied with a patented
vinyl floor sealer to stop conductivity at floor level. This unique
sealer sits flat on existing floors and fits tightly against the
interior/exterior wall panels. The walk-in wall panel is sup-
ported on the shoulder of the seaer so the foam edge is free
of compressing weight. The vinyl floor sealer is NSF listed.
SHELVING KITS
Shelving kits specifically designed for each Kold Locker TM
walk-in configuration are offered as an optional extra. These
kits are shipped with the Kold LockerTM walk-in and Capsule
PakTm refrigeration system so that all necessary components
are at your location promptly when you need them. The shelv-
ing sets are coded to correspond to the Kold LockerTM walk-in
configuration ordered and are offered in either three or four tier.
SHELVING SYSTEM TYPES
A. Green KoteTM Shelving: Electrostatically applied green
baked epoxy over zinc steel and brite basic wire. Thickness: 2-3
mill. 15 year guarantee against corrosion.
B. Nor -Lake Standard Chrome Kote TM Shelving: Plated
quality wire and steel. Surface nickel chrome plated.
Select the shelving FINISH of your choice. Shelving posts are
engineered for maximum strength. Shelves are adjustable on
2" centers. All shelves are NSF listed and are zinc coated with
a heavy layer of Protoxy for a maximum life span under humid
storage conditions. Special clips are utilized to gain the maxi-
mum square footage of storage space for each Kold LockerTM
model. 14", 18" and 24" wide shelves are used as required for
maximum storage capacity in each set. This wire shelving is
ideal for storage of all refrigerated or frozen products.
SHELVES
Shelves to have #9 (.148") ga. crosswires spaced 3/4" on cen-
ters with crossbraces 1/4" (. 192") minimum of 4-3/4" on center.

CAPSULE PAK TM
REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
SPECIFICATION
Capsule Pak Tm refrigeration systems consist of a
unitized system which is factory assembled, wired,
charged, tested and fully equipped for insertion into a
factory prepared walk-in opening. The Capsule Pak TM
system has a flush coil which keeps all components
outside the walk-in storage area, allowing more storage
inside. Models are available for wall or ceiling mounting
for use on indoor or outdoor installations. Models are
available for interior compartment design temperatures
of +38*F to +35*F, -10*F and -20*F**. Installation is fast
and easy. No plumbing required on indoor units.
The Capsule Pak"' evaporator section is an integral
factory assembled component of the complete Capsule
Pak Tm refrigeration system. The evaporator section is
designed to be located entirely outside the walk-in with
no intrusions into the refrigerated space. The evapora-
tor enclosure is constructed utilizing foamed -in -place
polyurethane insulation and equipped with a remov-
able, gasketed access cover. Capsule PakTm models
use high efficiency EC evaporator fan motors to circu-
late air throughout the walk-in.
All indoor Capsule Pak TM models are equipped with
a discharge gas condensate vaporizer which requires
no plumbing. All outdoor Capsule Pak TM models are
equipped with low ambient controls consisting of crank-
case heater, flooded condenser head pressure control
and pump down cycle.
All standard Capsule Pak TM
refrigeration systems are stocked for same
day shipment.
All standard Capsule Pak Tm refrigeration systems are
UL and C-UL listed.
Note: Allow minimum of 6" clearance above the
Capsule Pak TM system for installation*.

ENGINEERING CONSIDERATIONS (NOT FOR FIELD REPRESENTATIVE'S USE):
Suitability of Combination - This device mounted in the motor as
specified is suitable for use in appliances where the acceptability of the
combination has been determined by Underwriters Laboratories Inc. In
determining the acceptability of the combination, consideration should be
given to the following.
Products designated USR have been investigated using requirements
contained in Standard UL 2111 and UL 1004.
2. Products designated CNR have been investigated using requirements
contained in CSA Standards C22.2, No. 77 and C22.2, No. 100.
3. The motors tabulated above should be mounted in a suitable ultimate
enclosure. The enclosure should be such that the protector assembly is
guarded against possible damage.
4. A temperature test was performed on the above motor, as required by CSA
Standard C22.2 No. 100, Clause 7.4.4.6 for motors designated for "air -
over" applications (i.e. under no load, no fan conditions). The maximum
temperature measured on the windings was 145.9*C in a 23.80C ambient.
This was within the temperature limit of 175*C for a Class 3 insulated
motors used in "air -over" applications.
A temperature test should be conducted in the end -use application with
the intended fan to ensure that the maximum temperature on the windings
do not exceed the temperature limits for a Class B insulated motor under
normal operating conditions since the maximum temperature will vary with
fan pitch, length, and overall diameter.
File E128044 Vol. 1 Sec. 26 Page 2 Issued: 2007-02-02
and Report
5. Representative samples of the above motor line were subjected to a
Rating test as required by CSA C22.2 No. 100, Motors and Generators.
The measured current was within 10 percent of the nameplate marking and
was considered acceptable.
6. The motor mounting means, motor lead, strain relief, and lead
terminations must be evaluated for each end use.
7. Where motor leads are terminated in connectors, the acceptability of the
connector must be determined in the end -use application. Where the
connectors are mounted on the motor, the means of mounting must also be
evaluated.
8. The remotely mounted capacitor may or may not be supplied by the
manufacturer and should be rated as given in the table below:
Motor Modey Capacitor Rating
uF V ac, Minimum
S4A-OL50EM ITS-V 15 - 250
S4A-OL50EM 208-230V 4 440
If a capacitor is provided with the motor, and if it contains a medium
more flammable than askarel it is a Recognized Component capacitor with
internal protection (CYWT2); marked as being suitable for available
fault currents (AFC) of 5000 A or higher.
Expansion clearance of 1/2 in. between live capacitor terminals and the
end of the capacitor enclosure is provided for capacitors mounted within
or on the motor. In lieu of additional electrical spacing clearance, a
barrier of insulating material as described in this Report is provided.
Alternatively, when the barrier is not used, a total clearance for
expansion and electrical spacings of 9/16 in. is provided for motors
rated 300 V and less; and a total of 5/8 in. is provided for motors
rated from 301 to 600 v.
9. Although these motors bear the "Thermally Protected" marking, they have
only been evaluated for locked -rotor protection and running free (no
fan) conditions. They are therefore judged suitable for use in direct
drive fans, of in applications which require locked -rotor protection
only.
