City of Edmonds Community, Culture and Economic Development Department PRESENT: Richard Chung, Beth Henkes, Harry Kirchner, Katie Leute, Tanya Sharp EXCUSED: Ute Freund STAFF: Frances Chapin, Arts & Culture Manager; Laurie Rose, Arts Program Specialist GUESTS: (none) The meeting was called to order at 3:01pm by Chung Rose read the City Council land acknowledgement statement: "We acknowledge the original inhabitants of this place, the Sdohobsh (Snohomish) people and their successors the Tulalip Tribes, who since time immemorial have hunted, fished, gathered, and taken care of these lands. We respect their sovereignty, their right to self-determination, and we honor their sacred spiritual connection with the land and water." MINUTES Chapin reviewed the process for Public Art Call to Artists, which states that for a significant public art project to move forward, the Arts Commission will recommend to City Council a Call to Artists for its approval. The Call to Artists with a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the Edmonds Creative District (ECD) Gateway Project at Anway Park was distributed to the commissioners prior to the meeting for their review. Chapin confirmed that the RFQ has been reviewed with a representative of the Edmonds Creative District Advisory Committee. Chung called for a motion to recommend to City Council for its approval the Call to Artists RFQ for the Edmonds Creative District Gateway Project at Anway Park. Kirchner so MOVED. Leute SECONDED. APPROVED. There being no further business, Chung adjourned the meeting at 3:06pm.
