We have uncovered decay at unit deck 2B rim, joist, and beam. The south beam has previous
repairs. There is decay beyond the repair about 1 /2° deep at the top of he beam. There is a
metal strap on top of the joists to beam. How would you like us to proceed with repairs to the
beams, rim and straps?

INFORMATION RESPONSE
Repair deteriorated deck beams (cantilevered 4x12 typ.), and edge deck joist, and rim
joist per the attached detail sketch. Replace rusty existing straps at joists to match
existing, or use Simpson LSTA12.
