We have uncovered decay at unit deck 2D rim, joist, and beam, the cantilevered beam has
decay that goes 2 1 /2° into the face of the beam. How would you like us to proceed with the
repairs to the beam, joist, and rim?

INFORMATION RESPONSE
Repair deteriorated deck beams (cantilevered 4x12 typ.), and edge deck joist, and rim
joist per the attached detail sketch. Replace rusty existing straps at joists to match
existing, or use Simpson LSTA12.
