We have uncovered decay at unit deck 2E rim, and cantilevered beam. The decay at the south
beam is on both top and bottom of beam. It goes in 1 /211 deep and a little more than 6" back on
the top of the beam. There is also plywood at the end of the North beam. how would you like us
to proceed with repairs at the beam, rim?

INFORMATION RESPONSE
Repair deteriorated deck beams (cantilevered 4x12 typ.), and edge deck joist, and rim
joist per the attached detail sketch. Replace rusty existing straps at joists to match
existing, or use Simpson LSTA12.
