Hazard Tree Removal from a Critical Area
I reviewed the materials submitted pursuant to ECDC 23.40.220(C (8� )(b) for the conversion of
five hazardous red alders into snags in the Shellabarger Creek stream buffer onsite. The proposed
removals and replanting plant are approved, subject to the following conditions:
1. All cut vegetation shall remain within the stream buffer unless it poses a risk of disease or
pest transmission or erosion.
2. All removed trees shall be replaced 2:1 with native trees planted within the stream buffer.
Refer to the Urban Forest Management Plan for an incomplete list of native trees species.
3. These required replacements shall be planted within a year and subject to inspection.
4. Deciduous replacements shall be 1-2" DBH and coniferous replacements shall be at least
6' tall on planting.
