Gary and I would like to move our furnace a foot or so so that better ventilation and efficiency can be added.
The furnace and hot water tank are in a closet and we want to enlarge the doorway to be 4 foot wide with
bi-fold doors for easy access .
We will be applying for a building permit due to enlarging the doorway. The City asked us to have an
engineer verify that the wall we will be working with is non bearing. We have that document to submit with
the permit. We also will get a mechanical permit due to moving the furnace. An electrical permit will be
obtained also for the furnace hook and unhook up. Also to move a light switch.
