Two alternates provided comment 4. REVIEW OF AGENDA & MEETING NOTES I. Commission member read the land acknowledgement II. Commission approved May 28, 2020 meeting notes 5. POLICY COMMITTEE UPDATES I. Each Policy Committee presented any updates, clarifications, or new policies explored since the May 28 meeting. 6. SELECTION OF ROUND 1 POLICY IDEAS FOR PUBLIC INPUT I. The Commission voted on the following process for selecting policy ideas for public input: The Commission will use the thumbs up/thumbs down feature to select the policy ideas as concepts; City staff and consultants will work with the appropriate Committee's to refine the language of the selected policy ideas for public input. • In Favor: 14 • Opposed: • Abstained:I II. The Commission selected the following conceptual ideas to move forward, with language refinements as needed, for public input: • Pursue a coordinated regional effort, and participate in collection of the sales and use tax credit for affordable and supporting housing at the County level. (a) Allocate City's current share of tax credit to rental assistance for local tenants affected by COVID-19. (b) Coordinate allocation of future revenues from this source with municipalities in southwestern Snohomish County Districts 3 and 4, the Alliance for Affordable Housing, and the County. • Advocate that Snohomish County use its councilmanic authority to adopt the 0.1% sales and use tax for affordable housing by the deadline of September 30, 2020 • Execute an interlocal agreement with the Housing Authority of Snohomish County (HASCO), allowing HASCO to operate within Edmonds geographic boundaries. • All policy ideas in the Accessory Dwelling Units topic category • The Commission decided to approved these policy ideas as a group and allow for language refinement between City Staff and Committee members III. Due to time constraints the Commission decided to continue selection of the remaining policy ideas topic at a special meeting. 7. SPECIAL MEETING I. The Commission decided to hold a special meeting to finish reviewing the remaining policy ideas and selecting which policy ideas to move forward for public input. • All remaining agenda items will be moved to the special meeting II. The meeting will be Thursday June 18, 2020 from 6:30 PM — 8:30 PM via Zoom. 9. ADJOURN
