Tel: (425) 214-2280 Kirkland, WA. 98033 hamidkorasaniAyahoo.com December 06, 2023 Mr. & Mrs. Ram & Laxmi Pochincherla 1224 Olympic Ave Edmonds, Washington. 98020 Project: Pochincherla Residence Remodel 1224 Olympic Ave Edmonds, Washington. 98020 Subject: Special Inspection of footings Dear Mr & Mrs, Pochincherla, As requested by you, and your contractor, our office performed a special inspection of the footings per approved plans on November 30, 2023. During this inspection the following items were visually inspected, and corrections noted: 1- Visual inspection of footings reinforcing bar sizes, grade of reinforcement, spacing, rebar clearances, footing thicknesses, formwork, and horizontal footing reinforcement spacing and splices found to conform with the approved permit plans. 2- Shear wall anchor bolts for holdowns were not installed and could not be inspected at that time. They will be installed in the thickened footings or concrete stem -walls with their required embedment length per approved structural drawings. 3- There is a portion of the footing that is in conflict with an existing sewer line. We asked the contractor to stop the footing about 18 inches away from the end of the existing sewer cleanout in the crawlspace and terminate the continuous footing into a 42" X 42" X 15" thick footing pad w/#4 bars at 6 inches on center each way at the bottom of the pad with 3 inches clear from the subgrade as shown below. This will allow the footing and the framing above to bypass the sewer pipe and allow framing above without interference. As a result, the horizontal bars shall not need to be drilled and epoxied into the existing foundation per detail 2/S2.1.
