GENERAL NOTES
1. ALL WORK AND MATERIALS SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONTRACT PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS,
THE LATEST EDITION OF "STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR ROAD, BRIDGE AND MUNICIPAL CONSTRUCTION"
PREPARED BY WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (WSDOT), CITY OF LYNNWOOD
STANDARD PLANS AND PLAN NOTES, AND ANY CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL. IT SHALL BE THE SOLE
RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BIDDER TO NOTIFY CITY OF LYNNWOOD REGARDING ANY ERROR, OMISSION, OR
VARIATION FROM THE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS FOUND IN THESE PLANS OR ACCOMPANYING SPECIFICATIONS.
2. ALL CONSTRUCTION IS SUBJECT TO DAILY INSPECTION BY THE CITY OF LYNNWOOD. FOR ALL REQUIRED
SPECIAL INSPECTIONS, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE AT LEAST 24-HOUR PRIOR NOTIFICATION TO THE
CITY'S CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR TO PERMIT INSPECTIONS DURING THE NORMAL WORK DAY. WORK NOT
READY FOR A REQUESTED SPECIAL INSPECTION UPON THE ARRIVAL OF THE SPECIAL INSPECTOR MUST BE
RESCHEDULED FOR INSPECTION AND A RE -INSPECTION FEE MAY BE IMPOSED.
3. ALL PERMITS, INCLUDING THE ELECTRICAL PERMIT, ARE ISSUED BY THE CITY OF LYNNWOOD. BEFORE
ISSUANCE OF PERMITS, CONSTRUCTION OR ANY ON -SITE ACTIVITY, A PRECONSTRUCTION MEETING IS
REQUIRED BETWEEN THE CITY OF LYNNWOOD RESIDENT ENGINEER AND THE CONTRACTOR'S
CONSTRUCTION REPRESENTATIVE. REQUEST A PRECONSTRUCTION MEETING BY CONTACTING CITY OF
LYNNWOOD PUBLIC WORKS RESIDENT ENGINEER AT (425) 670-5224. SPECIALTY PRE -ACTIVITY MEETINGS MAY
ALSO BE REQUIRED. SEE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS.
4. BEFORE ANY ON -SITE MOBILIZATION OR WORK MAY BEGIN, CONTRACTOR MUST HAVE AN APPROVED SPILL
PREVENTION CONTROL AND COUNTERMEASURES (SPCC) PLAN AND AN APPROVED STORM WATER
POLLUTION PREVENTION (SWPP) PLAN. SUBMITTAL OF THESE PLANS FOR APPROVAL PRIOR TO THE
PRECONSTRUCTION MEETING IS REQUIRED. SEE SPECIAL PROVISIONS, SECTION 8-01.3(1)A.
5. CONFLICTS SHALL BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE RESIDENT ENGINEER AND SHALL BE RESOLVED
PRIOR TO PROCEEDING WITH AFFECTED CONSTRUCTION.
6. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL KEEP A SET OF PLANS ON SITE AT ALL TIMES FOR RECORDING "AS -BUILT"
INFORMATION. SEE SECTION 1-05.18 OF THE PROJECT SPECIAL PROVISIONS FOR RECORD DRAWINGS
REQUIREMENTS.
7. SEE SECTION 1-07.6 OF THE SPECIAL PROVISIONS FOR A NON -INCLUSIVE LIST OF PERMITS KNOWN TO BE
REQUIRED FOR THIS PROJECT. PERMITS OBTAINED AND PAID FOR BY CITY OF LYNNWOOD WILL BE
TRANSFERRED TO THE CONTRACTOR AND PICKED UP BY THEM PRIOR TO START OF CONSTRUCTION. THE
CONTRACTOR WILL BE REQUIRED TO SHOW A CONTRACTOR'S LICENSE AND A CITY OF LYNNWOOD BUSINESS
LICENSE BEFORE PERMITS WILL BE ISSUED. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR OBTAINING ALL
OTHER APPLICABLE PERMITS AND EASEMENTS AS MAY BE REQUIRED BY CITY OF LYNNWOOD OR OTHER
PERMITTING AGENCIES.
8. CONSTRUCTION NOISE SHALL BE LIMITED AS PER LYNNWOOD MUNICIPAL CODE (SECTION 10.12.300) FROM
7AM TO 6PM (M-F). WEEKEND WORK PROHIBITED UNLESS APPROVED PER LMC 10.12.300. SEE ALSO SECTION
1-07.5(5), NOISE CONTROL AND WORK PERFORMED AT NIGHT, IN THE SPECIAL PROVISIONS.
9. OFF SITE PREMISE STAGING OR STORAGE AREAS SHALL REQUIRE A WRITTEN RELEASE FROM THE AFFECTED
PROPERTY OWNER. IN ADDITION, A RELEASE FROM THE CITY SHALL BE REQUIRED DESIGNATING THAT
DAMAGE TO CITY PROPERTY IS NEGLIGIBLE OR NON-EXISTENT.
10. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL TAKE ALL NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS FOR THE SAFETY OF EMPLOYEES ON THE
PROJECT AND SHALL COMPLY WITH ALL APPLICABLE PROVISIONS OF FEDERAL, STATE, AND MUNICIPAL
SAFETY LAWS AND BUILDING CODES. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ERECT AND PROPERLY MAINTAIN, AT ALL
TIMES, AS REQUIRED BY THE CONDITIONS AND PROGRESS OF THE WORK, ALL NECESSARY SAFEGUARDS
FOR PROTECTION OF WORKMEN AND THE PUBLIC; SHALL POST DANGER SIGNS WARNING AGAINST KNOWN
OR UNUSUAL HAZARDS; AND SHALL DESIGNATE A RESPONSIBLE MEMBER OF THEIR ORGANIZATION ON THE
CONSTRUCTION SITE WHOSE DUTY SHALL BE THE PREVENTION OF ACCIDENTS.
11. CONTRACTOR SHALL RESTORE ALL AREAS DISTURBED BY CONSTRUCTION TO CONDITIONS EQUAL OR
BETTER TO THOSE FOUND PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION.
12. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CLEANUP ALL AREAS AFFECTED BY THEIR ACTIVITIES TO THE SATISFACTION OF
THE CITY REPRESENTATIVE BY THE END OF EACH WORKING DAY OR MORE FREQUENTLY IF REQUIRED BY
THE CITY REPRESENTATIVE.

AND EDGE OF CONCRETE PAD. CONNECT THE PROPOSED PIPING TO THE EXISTING HEADER AS SHOWN IN DWGs. NO. M03 AND M04. WHEN INSTALLING THE TEE, USE A TEMPORARY BLIND FLANGE ON THE BRANCH THAT WILL
EVENTUALLY CONNECT TO THE PROPOSED SCREW BLOWER.
3. ONCE THE PROPOSED TURBO BLOWER HAS BEEN INSTALLED AND TESTED, PHASE 2 MAY BEGIN. BLOWER #1, ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT, ALL ASSOCIATED SUCTION PIPING, AND ITS DISCHARGE PIPING UP TO THE
CONCENTRIC REDUCER ON THE BLOWER DISCHARGE HEADER WILL BE REMOVED. SEE DWG. NO. M01 FOR REMOVAL DETAILS.
4. NOTE: REMOVAL OF THE EXISTING BUTTERFLY VALVES FOR THE SCREW BLOWER CONNECTIONS WILL REQUIRE A SHUTDOWN OF AERATION. THE REPLACEMENT OF THESE VALVES SHALL BE COORDINATED TO ENSURE THE AERATION
SHUTDOWN IS NO LONGER THAN 30 MINUTES.
5. ONCE BLOWER #1 AND ITS ASSOCIATED PIPING IS REMOVED, INSTALL THE PROPOSED SCREW BLOWERS, CONSTRUCT NEW CONCRETE EQUIPMENT PADS TO PROVIDE A MINIMUM OF 4" CLEARANCE BETWEEN BLOWER ANCHOR
POINTS AND EDGE OF CONCRETE PAD. CONNECT THE PROPOSED PIPING TO THE EXISTING HEADER AS SHOWN IN DWGS. NO. M03 AND M04. NOTE THAT ONE OF THE SCREW BLOWERS WILL USE BLOWER #11S CONNECTION TO THE
DISCHARGE HEADER, WHEREAS THE OTHER SCREW BLOWER WILL SHARE A CONNECTION WITH BLOWER #2. THE TWO TURBO BLOWERS MUST REMAIN OPERATIONAL AT ALL TIMES DURING THE REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT OF
BLOWER #1.
6. THE EXISTING TURBO BLOWER MUST REMAIN IN SERVICE AT ALL TIMES. CONTRACTOR SHALL MINIMIZE DISTURBANCE AND DUST, AND MUST ALLOW CITY OPERATION STAFF ACCESS TO THE BLOWER ROOM AT ALL TIMES.
7. NOTE: MCC-B AND MCC-C CAN ONLY BE SHUTDOWN WITH PRIOR APPROVAL FROM CITY. CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE ANY SHUTDOWNS ONE WEEK AHEAD OF TIME. SHUTDOWNS SHALL NOT EXCEED 8 HOURS PER DAY,
