Upon our arrival on site, we met with the contractor to discuss installation details and locations. Today, we observed the installation of twenty-two (22) helical piles. The piles all had a 10" diameter single helix on the leading section of the pile. Piles had an outer diameter of 3 %" and 2 7/8" inner diameter. The piles were connected together with two (2) through bolts between each section. R&R installed piles 1-4 and 6-23 to depths of 4' to 17'. Piles 1-4, 6-11, and 14 were driven utilizing their DIGGA IOk drive head and piles 12-13 and 15-23 were driven utilizing their 6k DIGGA drive head mounted on a dingo. Piles were driven until their minimum axial compression listed on the project plans was reached (see site photos below for a chart of target loads). R&R provided us with a conversion chart correlating the head pressure read on their gauges to their torque and compressive load capacities. The following pages include site photos and a site plan showing pile designation. A table is included showing the length of the piles installed today, and the corresponding allowable axial compressive capacities for the piles. Note: Pile 5 was not installed today. The contractor and owner informed us that pile 5 was not needed for the proposed edition to the house. The engineer was called and made aware of this around 10:20am today. We were not informed as to what the engineer's response was- APPROVED 2-21-24 Offices Serving the Western United States Lynnwood (425) 485-5519 - Poulsbo (360) 598-2126 Tacoma (253) 939-2500 The information provided on this report is prepared for the exclusive use of the client.
