REVISED PROPOSAL FOR FENCING MODIFICATIONS
Project Overview — After receiving approval for this backyard swim spa and patio re -landscaping project
(BLD2022-0448) in July of 2022 the Edmonds City Counsel approved our application for vacation of the right-
of-way easement that abutted the easterly boundary of our property. Following the right-of-way vacation, a
boundary line adjustment was completed between our property (Lot 10) and our easterly adjacent neighbor
(Lot 1) which shifted the easterly property line for Lot 10 an additional 12.5 feet further east. The
combination of these two events resulted in increasing the length of the southerly boundary to a final length
of 139.86 feet. It is along the length of this south property line, as is depicted in the attached aerial photo
(Exhibit A), that we are proposing to replace dilapidated and broken fencing with new fencing.
The proposed fencing to be installed includes segments of three types of fencing: 1) chain link fencing, 2) six-
foot cedar panel fencing, and 3) six-foot cedar panel fencing with a 24-inch craftsman -style topper. The
location of these different types of fencing is shown in the Fence Site Plan (Exhibit B).
The chain link fencing will be 4-foot in height and will extend easterly along the south property boundary from
the SW property corner for approximately 65 feet. In addition, there are to be two separate segments of the
six-foot cedar fencing, which will mostly be located behind the Arborvitae, and have a combined total length
of approximately 42 feet. Lastly, there are two proposed segments of the taller, 'topped' cedar fencing that
will be located at each end of the existing hedge of Arborvitae trees to create greater privacy in out patio area.
The topper portion of the fence will be an open decorative pattern of true dimensional 2" x 2" vertical pickets
with equivalent 2" spacing between the pickets. The topped cedar fencing segments will not exceed a total
length of 35 feet, and will not exceed 96 inches in overall height, in accordance with ECDC 17.30.035(C)(1).
