Sioux Chief 695 Series PrimePerfectTm trap primer valves shall be used ENGINEER
where replenishment of water in floor drain traps is required. Trap primer
valve shall be 1/2' FIP inlet x 1/2" MIP outlet. Automatic trap primer valve CONTRACTOR
shall activate with a 10 PSIG pressure drop between 30-150 PSIG. PO# TAG
Water release shall be factory set. Trap primer valve shall have large
port openings. Trap primer valve shall be UPC/IAPMO listed, and ASSE
certified to the ASSE 1018 standard.
INSTALLATION �1
Replenishes water in floor drain traps to prevent escape of sewer gas. The
number of traps serviced by any trap primer is a function of activation
frequency and evaporation rate and should be determined by the design
engineer and/or the installing contractor. Install to a 1/z"-11h" nominal
water line, near the trap(s) to be served. Install in the upright, vertical
position only. Install at least 6" above the grid of the floor drain or the
flood rim of the fixture which the trap serves. Install near plumbing
fixtures to insure a full pressure drop of 10 PSI or more. If the trap
primer is installed too far upstream in the system, the pressure drop
may not be enough for activation. Install a vertical loop that rises above 695-01
the supply line tee. (see figure 1) Flush branch line prior to installing the
trap primer. Install MIP adapter. Connect trap primer. Install FIP union to
bottom. Use PTFE tape on both connections. Do not use pipe dope. Do ffll
not solder or braze directly to trap primer or fittings installed in trap primer.
Water discharge is factory set —no adjustment is required on normal Cold water supply
installations. For static pressures over 100 PSI, adjustments may be Trap primer
necessary. First loosen the nipple Iocknut (10, below), then turn the nipple Vacuum breaker
(19, below) counter -clockwise until the trap primer starts dripping, turn the Gravity lineFloor drain
nipple clockwise 1/4-turn to stop dripping, and re -tighten nipple Iocknut.

procedures, and meet or exceed the thermal efficiency
and standby loss requirements of ASHRAE standard
(EPact). Also exceeds energy efficiency codes of all
states including California Energy Commission (CEC).
Safety and Construction I Design certified by CSA:
For operation at 180 degrees; meets all safety and
construction requirement of ANSI Z21.10.3; as an
automatic storage or instantaneous water heater; as
an automatic circulating tank water heater; and for
operation on combustible floors and in alcove instal-
lations. Certified for 150 PSI maximum working
pressure (160 PSI for ASME models).
Optional Construction I ASME construction is
available on designated models. UL Sanitation (NSF5)
compliant models are available when equipped with
optional seal kit (Part No. AM35450).

WATER HEATER RESTRAINT
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
'Caution:
Wall covering may conceal electrical wiring or
pipes, which may cause damage or serious injury
if punctured by drills or fasteners. Unless you are
confident that there will be no interference from such
obstacles, we recommend that you seek qualified help
when installing this product.
INSTALLER: WEAR GLOVES AND PROTECTIVE EYEWEAR
WHEN INSTALLING THIS PRODIUCT.
'Caution: Strap coil is under tension.
BOX CONTENTS.-
4 - Straps
4 - Buckles
4 - Lag Bolts 1/4" x 21/z" Self -Drilling with 1/4" Flat Washers
2 - 3/8" carriage bolts, washers, and nuts
TOOLS NEEDED:
* 3/8" Socket or Wrench for Tightening Lag Bolts at Wall
• 9/16" Wrench for Tightening Carnage Bolts at Buckles
• Optional: Drill with 1/8" Drill Bit

Select water heater location against a wood stud wall.
Positioning directly in front of a 2" x 4" wall stud is strongly
recommended, and there must be a stud on each side of the
unit to anchor the Straps. See Figure A.

least 4" above the water heater
controls, See Figure B. J

Mark the wall studs on both sides
of the water heater where you will f
install the straps. Drill 1 /8" pilot
holes if desired.

First Strap pair assembly (select
either high or low position). Select
one Strap, and temporarily install one
Buckle per Figure El & E2 (Strap "A'J,
without bending the Strap back. See
Figure E3. Hold strap "A" so the Buckle
is in the approximate front -center of 0
the water heater. See Figure C.
Select a mounting hole at the other
end of the Strap that best aligns to
the pilot mark on the stud. (Note: Allow a slight tension rather
than slack when selecting the mounting hole.) If necessary, re-
position the Buckle and re -align. Secure the end of the Strap to
the stud with a 1/4" x 21h" lag bolt and washer. See Figure D.
Install Strap "B"

opposite side of
the heater per
Stepp 3 (See Figure
C. S. & E1-E2)
above. Select the
mounting holes C:77:)
which place the
Buckle at the
front -center of the
water heater while
aligninlp with the pilot mark on the second stud. It is important
that, with the Straps pulled tightly together around the water
heater, the buckles must end up approximately 21h" - 3" apart.
Select the buckle and wall mounting holes accordingly. Secure
Strap "B" to the second wall stud as above.
Bend the Strap ends that pass through the Buckles against the
back side of the Buckles, so they will press against the water
heater tank when secured (See Figure E3).
Secure the two Buckles together with 3/8" carriage bolt, nut
and washer, and tighten (See Figure F).
Second Strap pair assembly: Repeat
steps 2 - 4 for the second pair of Straps.
Although selecting the same hole and
slot positions as in the first installation is
likely to work, in some cases it may be
necessary to slightly reposition the Buckle
or wall mount. If necessary, trim Strap
ends at the wall. Installation complete.

water heaters up to 80 U.S. gallons in size. The system includes: (4) Straps,

Quick Link@ system allows for full adjustment from the front side of the
water heater.
