Craig Bechtold, Arrived onsite as requested to observe and document the installation of galvanized 2-inch diameter
L.G. schedule 80 pin piles. The piles were driven using a track hoe mounted BTI TB235ML hammer. The
10/08/2024 piles were driven to refusal, which is defined as 1-inch or less penetration in 3 seconds of continuous
driving over the course of three cycles. According to the approved plans a minimum embedment depth
of 20-feet is required. Please see the table below for details.

refusal, which is defined as 1-inch or less penetration in 1-minute of continuous driving over the course
of three cycles. According to the approved plans a minimum embedment depth of 20-feet is required.

*We contacted Kyle Bozick, Engineer of Record, with Pacific Engineering Technologies regarding the
shallower embedment depth. He referenced the geotechnical engineering report from ZipperGeo
dated October 5, 2023, which indicated decreasing depths may be acceptable in dense to very dense
native soils below the fill.
