Dear Barela's,
During our permitting efforts (for our facade renovation project #BLD2023-0098), we had our
underground downspout line / pipe scoped (via video) per the City of Edmonds' request.
The routing of this line / pipe (when originally approved and installed in 1987), heads west under your
property, before it discharges into the City System.
The video efforts revealed that there is a "shift" in the line / pipe located somewhere within your
property. During our construction process, we would like to gain approval to enter your property to
repair this "shift" in the line / pipe.
This process (ultimately defined by the contractor) would involve sending a camera into the line / pipe
again, determining the exact location of the "shift", carefully digging straight down to the area,
correcting the "shift", and then filling the hole back in (and restoring the area / landscaping back to
current / existing aesthetics).
Also, please note that our project will maintain the same amount of stormwater going through this pipe
(as it has been currently).
We (the Kleven's) and our contractor will work with you during the construction process to ensure that
this work is carried out at a convenient time, as well as in the most professional manner.
We would like to have this agreement in place prior to construction, so if you could please sign below,
this will grant us temporary access during construction to repair this "shift".
